We were truly blessed to witness a divine experience here in Seattle. The grand Sastha Preethi is unlike any other, and the Sabthagam Upanyasam by Sastha Aravindji covered a wide range of philosophical and spiritual topics. The Veda Temple did an outstanding job with the arrangements, and every devotee participated wholeheartedly to make the event a success. Swamy Saranam Ayyappa.
I have tried to compile and summarize Aravindji’s Upanyasam so that even non-Tamil speakers can grasp the essence. My notes are as detailed as possible, though not a verbatim transcript—they focus on the broad themes and key insights. I hope this serves as a useful reference. For me personally, this exercise also enhanced my focus and helped me fully capture the content.
There is one thing that stands out: Aravindji is living with the experience of Sastha. The aura he has, the anecdotes he brings, and some of the powerful spiritual messages he delivered can only be experienced in person. The mood of the Temple premises, the meditative state of our minds, and some of the sankalpa we make during the listening are personal, invaluable things that are not captured in the blog. Aneka Koti Namaskaram to Veda Temple for making this happen. As he mentioned, when he is delivering speeches, it feels like thru him his Guru’s (Seshadri Swamigal) and higher power delivering the messages. It’s an experience, cannot be expressed thru blog posts.
